As we have brought together several aspects of communication infrastructure previously kept separate or discrete to individual providers, the NWIX approach to networking turns many of the pillars of traditional networking on their head. Our network connects numerous independent and ISP owned data centres into a central network, providing an alternative to the conventional networking approach. Because NWIX also operates the Peering LAN of the MANAP Internet Exchange, it can enable the free exchange of information between those who become members.

The unique nature of our proposition ensures ICT providers, VNOs and ISPs can use the NWIX network to supplement their own networks or the relationships they have with carriers. Our business model isn’t designed to completely replace traditional carriers – it does however work effectively alongside and can play a vital role in network development – whether this is for an ISP or within an enterprise environment.

The Peering LAN means members can peer with all others online reducing the amount of IP Transit required and offering substantial cost savings to those on-net. For those in the business of delivering content to either consumers or businesses this provides them with a substantial competitive edge – especially given the reduced margin available for commodity networking such as DSL provisioning.
