Network Highlights

  • With a network capacity of 640G the network is capable of 320G diverse solutions
  • Very low latency, 3ms is our UK average, with our SLA at 10ms
  • Network can provide diverse connectivity to all data centres on-net
  • Every server, device and application on the network acts as if on the same LAN
  • The network can enable access to the Peering LAN and the Internet Exchange dramatically reducing the need for transit for UK traffic

The Network Performs

The NWIX network aggregates elements from key fibre providers into a single network connecting data centres across the UK and Europe. It is designed around multiple fibre connections from multiple suppliers, all routed diversely so each leg of the service is fully protected for maximum redundancy and resilience. The network provides end-to-end Ethernet connectivity to deliver ultra fast, low latency performance at vastly reduced capital expense.

Central to our network build strategy has been the concept of interconnecting data centres enabling customers to run services requiring low latency, high speed, high availability traffic. By eliminating overheads such as those associated with mpls networks, NWIX can guarantee low latency across the network regardless of distance due to the manner in which we operate the network.

NWIX is in sole control of switching so we are not dependant on third party providers – in other words the buck stops with us! NWIX has developed the means to implement core networking capability using switches cost-effectively, to deliver huge Internet bandwidth without using the complex switch infrastucture utilised by incumbent carriers. This places NWIX in a position to challenge both the mode of operation and the pricing strategies of UK telecommunications companies. The network connects to data centres across the UK as well as four major European centres . It is easily scalable in increments of 100 Megabit through to 640 Gigabit and is capable of 320 Gigabit diverse solutions.

By connecting into the data centre closest to them, customers immediately become part of that network and avail themselves of the on-net services. The Peering LAN the Edge-IX Internet Exchange that overlays the network means customers can freely exchange traffic with other peering Members which can substantially reducing costs of transit.
