NWIX Connect offers a collisionless, ultra low latency point-to-point connection utilising Dense Wave Division Multiplexing technology (DWDM), providing an optical signal from beginning to end, with customer hand-off to standard low cost 850nm/1310nm/1550nm optics. Unlike many other national providers who rely on MPLS cores, the NWIX network provides dedicated, permanently reserved and exclusive bandwidth for each customer using the network so that performance is not affected. As data is not processed, analysed, routed or switched on the journey, it is delivered - quite literally - at the speed of light. As every circuit is commissioned against stringent testing criteria, we are able to guarantee a bit error rate of less than 1 in 10-15 between NWIX network nodes, and because the service is underpinned by extensive fibre access into the major UK data centres and telehouses, it is especially suited for data centre connectivity. All of our services are protected and offer a primary route fibre circuit, with an additional diverse fibre circuit for resilience. In the event of a fibre break, the service will automatically re-route to the standby circuit, typically within 50 milliseconds (ms).
