NWIX Group Ltd was founded in 2004 and since then we have developed a reputation as a network service provider second to none. We can credit this reputation to the network we have invested in, the people we employ and the solutions we deliver.
In 1997, Manchester’s Internet Exchange (MaNAP) was launched so that local businesses could keep their Internet traffic local, avoiding ever-escalating data costs. NWIX bought the exchange in 2005 and has since developed the capabilities to that of a distributed exchange (Edge-IX). This means that businesses can benefit from this powerful service wherever they are in the UK.
We developed our services as a result of the direct need for companies that rely on their web presence to do business. The UK’s existing telecoms infrastructure was not designed with the demands of real-time and bandwidth hungry applications in mind. This weakness in the communications infrastructure is becoming increasingly apparent as growth in this area accelerates. NWIX is now challenging the conventional approach to networking and providing an alternative to discerning content and access providers across the UK.
